What Would your Ideal simracing Rig be like?

For me? Gotta have some D-BOX of course! If you’ve kept up with our social pages recently you’ll have seen the insane 6 actuator setup from one of our partners!

  • Triple Curved screens
  • 4 D-BOX actuators for road feeling
  • 1 D-BOX actuator for Surge (moving forward and backwards)
  • 1 D-BOX actuator for Sway (moving side to side)

I’d say that’s a pretty good place to start!

My setup is pretty good. 4 d-box actuators on the corners. Direct drive, lots of bits and bobs. Would actually love a little more travel that the small travel but I’ve spent all I can !

Love it !

Hey Colin,
Move your actuators closer together. It look that the distance is too long.
I have about 610 mm from side to side and 620 mm from back to front.

Plenty of movement with this distance (pitch and roll).

Amazing setup!!

Good suggestion - I’ll try but I think that they are quite close already to the wheel upright. I will check though.

Appreciate the feedback

Hey Colin,
Here are some info that might help you.

Check in D-Box System Monitor - Platform Details what are actuator weights when actuator is in mid stroke. I would guess that the rear actuators “see” more weight because most of the weight are at back (including driver).

Move your front actuators between seat and wheel upright and attach actuators to your rig, without the extensions.

Recheck in D-Box System Monitor - Platform Details actuators weight. Try to get the weights reasonably even between actuators. If you can, place the actuators so that the distance is about 600 mm.

Here few pics of my rig where you can see how I have placed my actuators.

That’s a sick setup! Glad to see we have die hard D-BOX enthusiats among us!

Hey Japo!

Thanks for all this information, this is exactly what we are hoping this platform will become, a place where members of the community come together and make everyone’s experience with D-BOX even better!
